"Energy-saving control of vehicle and its future vision - expectation for simulation technology"

The control method which allows driving based on the optimized calculation according to the traffic condition as the energy saving method for vehicles has lately been the focus. In this research, the key is the control effect prediction using the simulation of traffic condition. He will explain the current situation of this procedure.
He received the B. Sc. degree from Department of Applied Physics, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 1981, and M. Sc. from Major in Pure and Applied Physics, Waseda University in 1984. He had been working with Nissan Research Center, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. since 1984 to 2005. He was a research student of Department of Mathematical Engineering and Information Physics, Tokyo University in 1992 and 1993, and received the Ph. D degree from the university in 1994. He is currently the professor of School of Systems Life Sciences Kyushu University.

"CarSim and TruckSim Vehicle Dynamics Models for Use with Driving Simulators"

The advanced vehicle dynamics models can be used by integrating the CarSim software developed by Mechanical Simulation (USA) with the 3D VR visualization capabilities of UC-Win/Road, and drive simulator. In this lecture, he will explain the simulation of high-fidelity vehicle dynamics model of various vehicles including passenger cars, trucks, and bikes.
A Research Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan. His research field is on vehicle dynamics. He currently serves as the Director of Product Planning at Mechanical Simulation Corporation in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

"Introduction of car navigation system with ITS and utilization of driving simulation"

He will introduce the technologies of the latest large and high-solution car navigation system which support for ITS. Case studies involving the use of driving simulator with VR with aosl be introduced.
Senior Engineer at Keihin development department of Alpine Electronics, Inc. He has developed the ITS/Telematics of the car navigation system for a long time. He has participated in the creation of the standard specifications of JEITA ITS car equipment.

"Evaluation of the package of inside the vehicle using VR simulation (with HMD)"

He will introduce the case study of the visibility package of inside vehicle interface. He will touch on the interface evaluation of inside vehicle using HMD and UC-win/Road.
He researches the human engineering and intuitive interface by linking with virtual reality system. More than 200 research papers have been posted on the academic journals.

If the train signal visibility can be evaluated with computer in advance, the expense for adjusting the train signal installation position can be reduced. He will introduce the advanced use of VR system which enables it.

"Projection mapping and its potentiality"

"Projection mapping" is the representation method for projecting the movie on the buildings and objects directly with the projector. This method has been focused on by its impact such as luster effect. He will introduce the feature of this method and case studies in the country and overseas, and future development and possibilities including the expanding to the sightseeing and digital signage fields.
A representative of Projection Mapping Association of Japan. He works in a wide range of field including the projection mapping as a movie and space creator in the country and overseas.

"Utilization of 3D Marketing"

Currently, the word "3D" has gained wider acceptance as compared to before. However, 3D is built on the various specific fields such as 3DCG, 3D movie, 3DCAD, 3D space (position information), and each of them have not fully understood each other. In this lecture, he will provide the new view point "3D marketing" for people who use and provide 3D technology to show the future development of the 3D market.

He will introduce the research of traffic system. The traffic data is collected with the mobile device, car sensor, illuminating lamp, fixed camera in the intersection, and the information is sent based on the request to avoid the traffic jams.

"Current condition of civil structures confirmed by the damage of  the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the future technical vision."

In the Japan Earthquake, apart for the damage by tsunami, the improvement of earthquake-resistant design technology and implement of earthquake strengthening etc. such as the application of dynamic bearing capacity method at the time of earthquake and seismic isolation design which has been proceeded since 1990s, adoption of laminated rubber bearing for seismic isolation, drastic strengthening of structure for prevention of collapse of a bridge etc. contributed to mitigation of damage greatly. However, this earthquake occurred at the point far distant from inland, and was not an intense earthquake motion. A lecture will be given about what kind of subject occurs to the epicenter earthquake of inland which exceeds the Great Hanshin Earthquake.
Professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology, completed the graduate school of civil engineering at Nagoya University in 1972, was posted to Public Works Research Institute, through the general manager of earthquake resistant research in 1984 and has been present post since 1995. "Quantification of flood risk of rainwater drainage in the urban area - case study with xpswmm"

Looking back into history of runoff analysis and flood model of urban storm drainage and we'll clarify what xpswmm is. Furthermore, the method of flood risk quantification which combined flood inundation models and flood damage calculation model is explained and offer the outline of flood risk management. As an example of the application of flood risk quantification, the calculated example of risk assessment by rainwater drainage plan and changing climate is shown and risk impact factor is introduced as a risk estimative index.
Professor in Civil Engineering at Shibaura Institute Technology. His specialized field is urban hydrology and groundwater hydrology. He makes a strong effort to the research of flood risk management recently.

"View of modeling in analysis of pollution outflow in rainy weather in an urban area"

Control regulation and management are needed from the point of pollution outflow loading doze at the time of rainfall in urban region and regrowth of water environment. Especially, for the quantitative evaluation of flow of very small quantity of harmful material and combined sewerage overflow water phenomenon, survey work considered ground level feature and sewerage facility is needed. At this lecture, with organizing the important points at the time of pollution behavior and evaluation and prediction of loading doze using rain runoff model in a distributed city, the example of analysis of pollution outflow is introduced.
Study area is urban storm water management and water environment conservation. He received many academic awards of Japan Society on Water Environment in 2010.

By using xpswmm, the waterway and earth surface of the area are reproduced by 1D / 2D model and it is utilized for grasp of the present problem and the check of the measure effect by implementation of gradual rain water maintenance. 
He is engaged in formulation of a sewerage plan, etc. and graduated from Nihon University of civil engineering department.
