"The development and future expectation of computer graphics"

The history of Computer Graphic had begun in the early 1960's and it has improved along with Hard and Soft. An essential desire to express an information in a picture or figure has been made a remarkable advance with results of research development for the half-century from the basic stage of simulated display via line printer and linear drawing via XY plotter. It has also been used not only for an industrial world but also for anime, game and even movies and being continued to VR world, that the technology using computer has been dramatically expanded. He definitely thinks we need consider what kind of impact and task does a excess virtual world have on society and people's lives.
Former vice president of NEC. He currently realizes co-creation with overseas as a president of Collabo Business Consulting and has been a special advisor of FORUM8 since this April.

"Instant and Flexible 3D Reconstruction Using a Digital Camera"

He will give an explanation about the technology to restore camera position for shooting and the intended 3D structure by processing the image shot in the various directions. This method which he was involved can obtain the restore results by immediately processing the shot image, so it is possible to confirm the restored results up to a given time and effectively shoot the required images. In this lecture, he will introduce the development overview and the case study of processing results along with the typical explanation about related technology.
Joined Canon Inc. in 1983. He was appointed as a chief scientist of Canon's Information System Laboratory after taking on a visiting scientist of Carnegie Mellon University, USA and was an Associate Professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology from 1994 to 2001.

These new development will be introduced.

He was engaged in building and running companies of developing digital anime software and Web design from 1995 after taking on a research worker of MITI and working on a company of USA origin. Now a president of 3D and special-appointment professor of Digital Hollywood Co., Ltd.

In addition to the vehicle information via multi-display simulator which was refurbished from an actual vehicle and 6-axis motion simulator system belonging to his laboratory, world-class research results about biosignal analysis of drivers, estimation technologies for drivers conditions, such as the mental load and sleepiness and the action prediction have been published. He has acquired a lot of patents about the estimation technologies for drivers conditions. The future development of the next-generation driving simulator along with these research results will be introduced in this lecture.
Born in Nagoya in 1960. After completing his Masters in Graduate School in Nagoya Institute of Technology, appointed to current position in 1998. He has been engaged in a research regarding a safety system via driver monitoring.

After explaining about the numerical simulation for debris flow flooding and its model, the background which Kanako, the general purpose debris flow simulator, was developed, its applied range and the setting method of various parameters such as debris barrier and hydrograph will be introduced. After that, Kanako's case studies for dangerous mountain stream of debris flow and disasters (Miyajima, Hiroshima and Houfu city, Yamaguchi) will be also introduced as well.

A case study that the slope stability analysis by shear strength reduction technique via GeoFEAS2D considering water pressure distribution obtained from the results of rainfall seepage analysis via VGFlow2D will be introduced. Moreover a case study that the result of seismic response analysis via GeoFEAS2D was compared with the results of 2D UWLC analysis using the results that the acceleration distribution in the ground by performing 1D earthquake response analysis via UWLC will also be introduced.

It can be said that Japan has the cutting-edge technologies for earthquake and seismic engineering, and disaster prevention since our country, Japan has experienced a lot of earthquakes. On the other hand, these technologies needs significant specialized and segmentalized techniques and knowledge, so there is very few publication which covers them all. He and the other five authors wrote an introduction "Earthquake Disaster Mitigation" and it has been published in this April. In this lecture, he will introduce about four fields (earthquake, earthquake prevention, tsunami, disaster prevention) which is essential when considering earthquake prevention.
Worked as a visiting professor in University of Colorado (1992-1993). Graduated from a department of science and engineering and doctor of engineering. Specialized in seismic engineering, seismic risk and reinforced concrete. Won the paper award for Japan Society of Civil Engineers and others.

By considering these from many sides, it is possible to perform a response analysis of concrete structures from a few minutes to several decades. After releasing the initial version including RC non-linear plate element in addition to the conventional 3D non-linear frame element, cable element and damper element have been added and also calculation performance for a large amount data applied for 64bit and PARDISO has been improved. Moreover it has been applied for a function verifying the cross-section surface for Specifications for highway bridges 2012 and concrete standard specifications 2012. The experimental research with numerical simulations using Engineer´s StudioŽ carried out at the University of Granada involves shaking table tests on several interior/exterior column-waffle slab connections using a numerical model of the full structure to investigate its structural behavior, and a non-linear time history analysis on the model. New design methods for structures with hysteretic dampers were developed by post-processing the analysis result.



He's with Dr. Amadeo Benavent-Climent's Earthquake Engineering Group in the University of Granada, where he obtained his PhD degree in July.
