NetUPDATE is a tool that helps you update
your
UC-win/UC-1 series products. It not only displays the priority level
for each updates, version up history, and information on the latest
releases, but also checks whether your product is up-to-date while you
are running the product and if it is not up-to-date the tool let's you
download the new version with a single click, provided that you have
current maintenance contract. In other words, the NetUPDATE keeps your
product(s) up-to-date.
We are pleased to announce the release of "NetUPDATE Ver.4" and
"NetUPDATE WAN Ver.4", both with the enhanced "Log Analysis Function". |

Log Analysis Function
Function
to obtain the log describing which computer is what FORUM8 product.
Basically the function counts the number of hours each and every
product owned by the user is in use by each computer as well as the
number of times each product has been activated on each computer if at
all.
The tool graphs the number of computers that activated each and every
product, and for each computer it graphs the total number of times each
product has been activated, the total hours of use, and the average
hours of use per day. The Analysis results can be output as a report in
HTML format.
The conventional log analysis function required the following 3
programs to be run for the analysis to work: F8detect, NetUPDATE WAN,
and License manager that supports WAN. On top of that, the number of
hours a specific product is in use on each computer could not be
displayed on a graph since the conventional function did not have the
ability to count logs nor did it have the ability to assign a specific
product to be tallied.
The new NetUPDATE can analyze the log by
itself
The
new NetUPDATE can now collect the log describing the number of hours
each product is in use by each computer and the number of times each
product has been activated on each computer and then display the
analysis results on a graph, without relying on the WAN supported
license manager.
The previous version had the ability to find out which computer within
a network is using which product, but did not have the ability to count
the number of hours each product is in use by each computer nor the
number of times each product has been activated on each computer, the
kind of analysis which was feasible only through the use of NetUPDATE
WAN back then. Now that's history. The new version of NetUPDATE can now
find out the number of hours each computer has used each product and
the number of times eacg product has been activated on each product, by
itself.
The ability to choose how you wish to
tabulate the log has been added
The ability to specify how you wish to
tabulate the log has been
added. The options are (A) count up the log for each product and (B)
count up the log for each computer. In addition, the system now
supports 'advanced search'. For instance, if you choose option B (count
up the log for each computer) and then specify a product on 'advanced
search', the number of hours that product is in use and the number of
times that product has been activated are summed up for each computer
and the results are then displayed on a table. Alternatively, if you
choose option A (count up the log for each product) and then specify a
computer on 'advanced search', you can find out how many hours each and
every product owned by the user was used on that computer.

Improvement of interface
The interface has been improved in such a
way that you can now
choose how you want the log to be tabulated and have the results
displayed, both on a single window. The way in which tabulated results
are shown can be switched around with a click of a tab.
Moreover the conventional version could only show the top 10 products
on a graph, however from this version, all products whose log has been
obtained can now be shown on the graph.
The ability detect the old versions
has been added.
NetUPDATE
detects the FORUM8 products which is installed in your PC and displays
them in "Installed products" tab. The version that you own and the
latest version available are both displayed beside each product that
you own, therefore you can check if your product is up-to-date.
In the previous version of NetUPDATE, the products were deleted off the
"Installed products" list whenever you take up the paid "Uprade". This
is no longer the case in the new release as the products are kept in
the list even after you take up the paid "Upgrade", hence older
versions can be searched for.
