has released UC-win/Road Ver.11 as the latest version of 3D Virtual Reality Software UC-win/Road with its functions greatly improved. At "The 27th Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo (DMS)" (June 22-24, 2016, Tokyo Big Sight), UC-win/Road Ver.11 was introduced and its experience presentation was provided, and it was also exhibited at "NAGOYA2016 AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPOSITION" (June 29-July 1, 2016, Portmesse Nagoya).

In 2000, FORUM8 started to sell the 1st version of UC-win/Road and opened a new market for VR. UC-win/Road won the 2002 Software Product of the Year (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and it has continued to be upgraded and expanded its functions.
UC-win/Road Ver.11 is the major version upgrade since August 2014, and development environments such as SDK and API are available as usual. As an option, "UAV Plug-in" which can support the automatic flight of drones is also released.

The number of installation of UC-win/Road has become more than twice in this 5 years. UC-win/Road is the world-compliant virtual reality software (available in Japanese, English, German, French, Chinese, Korean, Italian, and Taiwanese) and has been utilized in various fields such as wide range projects including architecture and civil engineering, high level studies in traffic/automobile, and robot development.

In the automobile field, four-wheeled real vehicle type driving simulator packaging system "UC-win/Road Drive Simulator" has been provided since May 2007, and its customization system satisfies high level and wide range of simulation demands. FORUM8 has delivered 8DOF driving simulator to Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China in 2014, 4K Five-Screen 3D Stereoscopic Driving Simulator to Nagoya University in 2015, and other driving simulators to a lot of users. These driving simulators are applied widely to road designing, exhibition and publication, development of vehicle system, research in ITS traffic system, and study in interaction between drivers, cars, roads, and traffics.

In this revision, variety of functions have been strengthened significantly: SfM Plug-in to create 3D models automatically from photos, linkage to Open Street Map, high-precision rendering in real-time, etc. By these upgrades, in addition to deal with the government's policy of CIM and i-Construction, FORUM8 is aiming to expand the markets of automobile, manufacturing, entertainment, and medical.

In the next Ver.12, simulation timer control and various functions for the research driving simulator will be improved. FORUM8 continues to push ahead ADAS which attracts attention in the automobile field, and the software and system development in the field of auto driving research development.

With 2016 getting much attention as 'the first year of VR', FORUM8 will continue to provide UC-win/Road which has been equipped advanced new functions to realize "The era of virtual reality", and will also expand into overseas markets through cooperation with overseas universities and companies including the participation to MIT ILP (Massachusetts Institute of Technology Industrial Liason Program).

It is an advanced software that enables the creation of 3D spaces in a short time by simple PC operations and gives you a variety of simulations in real-time. Flexible development environments SDK and API are provided. Cost-effective packaging systems can be applied to the high-level system development.

- VR-Cloud® Support by Default
- Improved Rendering Engine: Realistic reflection of water graphics, auto creation of skies through progressing the time.
- SfM Plug-in: This allows photos to be loaded into UC-win/Road and analyzed to generate models in VR space.
- Open Street Map Support: A world-wide collaborative project to create free world maps. Elements such as roads, tunnels, bridges, and buildings can all be properly shown. 
- CAVE system support: Cluster system supports free setup of screen configuration and provides API which links to the view tracking information for CAVE system. Headtracking which calculates and draws view volume by the screen size and the distance from the screen.
- Extended 3DS Export: Objects' coordinates and many landscape settings can also be added into the exported XML files.
