On the 26th September, FORUM8 Co., Ltd. (2-15-1 Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo. President Yuji Ito. URL: http://www.forum8.co.jp/english/) has released the new version of Engineer's Studio®, a Three Dimensional Plate Dynamic Nonlinear Analysis software. In this version 7 of the Engineer's Studio®, the "Civil Structure Biaxial Section Calculation (Partial Factors Method / Specifications for Highway Bridges, 2017) option" is available. The "Civil Structure Biaxial Section Calculation (Partial Factors Method / Specifications for Highway Bridges, 2017) option" is a verification function by the partial factor design method that is newly introduced in the "Revision of the "Technology Standard for bridges and highways" (Specifications for Highway Bridges)" announced on the 21st July, 2017 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. This option corresponds to a part of "Chap. 5 Material design related to load bearing", "Chap. 6 Material design related to resilience" in the Specifications of Highway Bridges Part III, and "Chap. 6 Material design when considering seismic influence", "Chap. 8 Reinforcement bar concrete pier", "Chap. 9 Steel pier", "Chap. 14 seismic isolated bridge" in the Specifications for Highway Bridges Part V. This enables a shear strength verification and curvature verification for the maximum response value as a test for the dynamic analysis on structures. For the single column type RC pier or steel pier, the displacement verification and the residual verification are conducted at all steps in order to extract very severe test result. The displacement test and the residual test also support biaxial bending. [Main revised contents of Engineer's Studio® Ver.7]
