FORUM8 Co., Ltd.
FORUM8's "UC-win/Road Earthquake Simulator" won Good Prize
of "The 30th Excellent New Technology and Products
by Small and Medium-sized Enterprise / Software Section"

"UC-win/Road Earthquake Simulator" developed by FORUM8 Co., Ltd. (2-15-1 Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo. President Yuji Ito. URL: http://www.forum8.co.jp/english/) won Good Prize of The 30th Excellent New Technology and Products for Small and Medium-sized Enterprise / Software Section (Organizer: The Resona Foundation For Small And Medium Enterprise Promotion, THE NIKKAN KOGYO SHIMBUN, LTD). On April 17, 2018, the result announcement and award ceremony were conducted at Hotel Grand Palace in Iidabashi, Tokyo.

This award is selected every year in the purpose of promoting technologies of small and medium companies and contributing to the development of domestic industry. This award has "General Section" and "Software Section", and Director of The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Award, Excellent Award, Good Award, and Encouraging Award are given to superior new technologies and products after strict judgments. FORUM8 won the Good Award of Software Section for the second time, following to Engineer's Studio® in 2011.

"UC-win/Road Earthquake Simulator" can simulate the shake of buildings and the structure strength. In addition, this is the first product in the industry that focuses on behaviors of furniture and fixtures shaking inside the room. On the 3D Virtual Reality Software UC-win/Road, damage situation and its effect of shakiness and collapse of furniture and lightings can be visualized in 3DVR with easy input.
Specifically, shaking of furniture and fixtures is reproduced and overturning is instantly simulated by giving physical properties such as weight, center of gravity, and frictional force to objects. Collisions between objects are also detected. Motions such as drawers popping out of desks, and furniture colliding each other and moving another direction are also expressed. The earthquake sound and collision noise of furniture are also generated. In addition, the seismic wave form data published by the Japan Meteorological Agency can be imported to reproduce the actual earthquakes and simulate possible seismic wave forms.
