Concluded a collaboration agreement with Akita Pref. and Akita Univ.

FORUM8 Co., Ltd. (2-15-1 Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo. President Yuji Ito. URL: https://www.forum8.co.jp/english/) concludes a collaboration agreement on promotion of information industry with Akita Pref., Akita Univ., TECHNOS AKITA CO.，LTD, and BroadBand Security, Inc. The signing ceremony will be held at the main building of Akita Prefectural Office on March 9th, 2023, and Mr. Norihisa Satake, the governor of Akita, Dr. Fumio Yamamoto, M.D., the President of Akita University, and other persons concerned will attend.

The purpose of this collaboration is to strengthen digital human resource development in Akita Prefecture, promote information-related industries, and revitalize the local community, specifically covering the following matters.

• Education and research initiatives utilizing information technology, mainly XR, metaverse, information security, etc., and digital technology such as data science and AI
• Use as a center for practical learning related to (1) above
• Joint research and other efforts to solve regional issues in Akita Prefecture
• Industry-academia-government collaboration efforts that contribute to the development of digital human resources, the promotion of open data, and the promotion of information-related industries
• Other matters necessary to achieve the objectives of this agreement

In 2015, FORUM8 entered into an agreement to work with Hokuto Bank, FIDEA Information Systems, and NIHON TECHNOS and has worked on advanced software development and IT human resource development in Akita in cooperation with the Prefecture and Akita University. Since 2019, we started Regional Revitalization and National Resilience Seminar to provide special lectures and suggest solutions to solve local issues.

Through this collaboration agreement, we aim to further contribute to regional revitalization in Akita, and at the same time, we intend to deepen industry-academia collaboration with Akita University, which will establish a new ICT and data science department in 2024, and to promote the development of DX in a variety of fields.
