3D model IFC converter Corresponding to 3DA standard (plan) by the MLIT ●Price Free for subscription contractor ●Release date May 24, 2019 Introduction The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is promoting CIM (Construction Information Modeling/Management) to sophisticate the series of construction production system and improve its efficiency by sharing information using 3D models. The "Guideline of CIM introduction" was published in March 2017. It includes the purpose and way of thinking of CIM, direction of 3D model creation, 3D survey method, information related to soil model creation and utilization, and how to utilize CIM according to construction method and case studies of CIM. This guideline recommends "data delivery in IFC format". To spread IFC in the construction industry and improve the precision of IFC data linkage, the civil engineering committee in the "General incorporated association buildingSMART Japan" started "IFC test" in December 2018. FORUM8's "3D model IFC converter" passed the "IFC test (export section)" in April 2019 and has been released for free. Functions of 3D model IFC converter The real-size 3D display of 3D bar arrangement data (framework and rebar of civil structures, RFC, RFV) created in UC-1 (3D bar arrangement) design series products allows users to check complex bar arrangement state and export 3D data (IFC, 3DS, etc). Corresponding to the IFC test FORUM8 products (3D model IFC converter, 3D bar arrangement CAD, and Allplan) passed the IFC test conducted by General incorporated association buildingSMART Japan.
CIM model output from UC-1 design series UC-1 (3D bar arrangement) design series products are equipped with this program. The 3D model IFC converter works together with 3D bar arrangement data created in UC-1 programs and displays civil structures (framework and rebar) in 3D and exports it to 3D data (IFC, 3DS, etc). The CIM model export in IFC format from UC-1 design programs is provided for free. Conclusion That is all for the introduction of the 3D model IFC converter. FORUM8 will continue to correspond to requests from users and improve our products. In particular, the development of the 3D annotation (3D framework dimension line) of 3D bar arrangement data created in UC-1 series is under consideration. |
