Version 2 of the Virtual Showroom System that was first introduce in Up&Coming Vol. 131 will be released! Utilizing our virtual showroom system you can host exhibitions and events in a virtual space that allows you to connect with colleagues, customers, or other interested parties. This system was first introduced as a way to showcase new products during the era of COVID-19 but has now evolved into an easy to access web system that can be accessed from any web browser, it also included mobile support. We have listed our full list of updates to the Virtual Showroom System below. The system supports VR devices now. By using the standard web interface of WebXR Device API, it has realized the VR experience on Head Mounted Display, smartphone, and tablet. In addition that wearers can enjoy VR simulations filled with the sense of immersion, the VR system raises the wearer's concentration on contents and may increases the amount of information and understanding. The viewpoint is controlled according to the movement of wearer's eyes, and this means you can expand the system for the purpose of education training and workflow test as well as exhibition. Since the Ver.2 program is developed as the Progressive Web Application (hereafter called as PWA), it can be used on OS like the native apps. On the browsers corresponding to the PWA, the system is installed as a local application after accessing the normal website. Once it is installed, an icon is added to the desktop or home screen. This is not a shortcut icon to access the URL of the virtual showroom system but opens the application on a separate window from the browser so that you can use the app without being conscious of the web application (Fig.2). This user-friendly program releases you from the typical trouble of opening a browser and finding the target website from bookmarks. We also added the data switching for desktops and smart devices, simple start screen, and setting of collision mesh used during walking. Towards the further use of the system, we will develop functions such as functions for consensus building and collaboration, editing of user friendly data by administrators, and streaming technology. |
