Since the subscription service* provided by FORUM8 is the license authentication via the internet, PCs that FORUM8 products are launched require the internet connection. If your PC cannot communicate with the FORUM8 server in any reason, an error will be occurred and your license will not be activated. In this topic, we will explain what you should do in this case. *Subscription USB/NetPRO uses a hardware protect key for the authentication, but every PC requires the authentication via internet at the time of first authentication to check if the license registered in the protect key is valid. (You do not need the internet connection for a year after the first web activation.) Access limitation Routers or firewalls on the network sometimes limit the access to certain websites. In this case, please allow the access to the host below. FORUM8 authentication server Host: license.forum8.co.jp Protocol: HTTPS Port: 443 Site hosted by the publisher (GeoTrust) of the server certificate that FORUM8 server is using Host: cdp.geotrust.com Protocol: HTTP Port: 80 The IP address of the host above may be changed irregularly. Please allow the access right to the host name above. Check that you can access to the web site below on the Internet Explorer (or other web browser you use). https://license.forum8.co.jp/index.htm If a text saying it is a test page is displayed, the network access is not limited. Go to the next step "Proxy setting". Proxy setting You can change the proxy settings from the product main menu - [Help] - [Version Information] - [License] tab - Details button. Use the setting for Internet Explorer first, and try other settings if it is failed. When using the proxy server Select [Manually configuration] and set a host name, account, and password of the proxy server. If the proxy server does not have the password authentication, leave the account and password empty. When not using the proxy server Select [Do not use HTTP proxy server]. Check the following "Security software" if the problem has not been solved. Security software Turn off your security software temporarily. Since some security software is equipped with the firewall, check if the firewall is invalid. The Windows-standard firewall may be activated. Please invalidate the firewall of Windows and then try to authenticate. If your license is authenticated in the no security environment, please change security software settings (allow the communication) so that your license will be activated with security software turned on. |
