DAY2 2022.11.17THU Lecture Material / Movie
Day 2 featured a presentation on the latest functions of Shade3D and a special lecture by Professor Emeritus Yoshiyuki Kawazoe of Tohoku University on how to think about changing design from its very essence. At the "15th International Symposium", each member of "World16" presented their own R&D results. In response to this, Forum8 expressed its desire to reflect these study results and the diverse and advanced tips given by each researcher in the development of future products.
In the latter half of the afternoon, Mr. Patrick Harlan joined to announce the awards for the 10th CPWC, 12th VDWC, and 8th Junior Software Seminar, and to present the awards.

This lecture will introduce new features implemented in the latest Ver.23 of Shade3D, such as road alignment, morph targets, and multi-timeline animation, as well as future prospects. In addition, he will introduce how to create character models and event exhibition models, and how to use BIM/CIM data such as IFC for the Metaverse including case studies. The newly supported editor function and the latest case examples of "Suite Chidori Engine", a Japan-made game engine.
FORUM8 TV commercial character Pakkun will host the awards ceremony!
"10th CPWC" competing for cloud application programming technology using development kits and "12th VDWC" competing for advanced architectural and civil engineering designs in the cloud. In the middle of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, each team put a lot of thought into their own work, for example creating cloud-based data. We have received many works from across Japan and abroad, mainly from Asian countries. At the final public screening, students gave thought-provoking and creative presentations.

Everyone talks about SDG's, but it is just a regret for the collapse of the civilization that Westerners have built while destroying nature. Japanese people have lived in harmony with nature since ancient times. The four great civilizations of the world are only as far as the Westerners' knowledge goes. Japanese people should be proud of the Jomon culture, which has lasted for 10,000 years. We need to think by ourselves about what we should do to enrich ourselves, rather than being caught up in globalization, a policy that only enriches the Western countries. This is what is essential for creating a truly new design.
An international VR symposium where members of "World 16" composed of researchers from all over the world in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, city planning, etc. have gathered to present and discuss proposals for using VR. The Summer Workshop, which started in Phoenix, USA in 2008, was first held in Japan the following year in 2009 in Hakone, Japan. Then it has been held around the world every year including in Boston MIT in 2017, in Paris, France in 2019 recently. The event was held under the direction of Dr. Yoshihiro Kobayashi of Arizona State University with the presentation of the results of applied research and development and its application to FORUM8 products.
