To spread and promote the state-of-the-art expression technology, State of the Art Technologies in Expression Association established "Hagura Award". The purpose of this award is to contribute to enhancing the quality of expression technologies and spreading them to various fields by commending contributions to the society through works and activities utilizing the state of the art expression technologies regardless of field. The winners will be announced and awarded in this session.
State of the Art Technologies in Expression Association
Katsumi Matsuda
With a view of BIM/CIM and i-Construction promoted by the MLIT, specialists in each field of DX, seismic, disaster mitigation, and informational construction deliver speeches. In addition, FORUM8 staff introduces FORUM8 solutions using CIM and covering various phases such as performance design and maintenance and the activities based on the SDGs missions.
Graduate School of Science and Technology, Gunma University
Prof. Akihiko Wakai
Professor of the Department of Environmental Engineering Science, Graduate School of Gunma University. He specializes in soil disaster prevention, soil-structure interaction, etc. He has been engaged in research such as computer-based phenomenon prediction, elucidation of mechanisms during extreme weather and major earthquakes, and disaster mitigation measures.
From the perspective of national resilience to major earthquakes, it is very important to improve the safety of the ground and earth structures that can suddenly undergo excessive deformation due to external earthquake forces. However, it is not always easy to grasp the material properties of soil, which is difficult to understand the mechanical behavior and internal structure compared to artificial materials, and to take appropriate reinforcement measures in advance. In this talk, he will present some examples of the reproduction of such ground behavior based on elasto-plastic FEM and describe the prospects for future improvement of ground disaster prevention and mitigation technology.

FORUM8 Executive Officer, System Sales Manager
Katsumi Matsuda
He will present application examples and case studies of open data and BIM/CIM models including PLATEAU in the digital twin environment, such as application cases in disaster management and remote / information construction, use of the metaverse environment, cooperation with the Suite ERP, application of the digital garden city concept to each project, and the use of integrated DB and infrastructure DB in maintenance management.
FORUM8 Executive Officer, UC-1 Development Manager
Shiro Nakahara
In this presentation, he will introduce FORUM8's initiatives in FEM analysis and BIM/CIM for our UC-1 series products, such as Geo Engineer’s Studio, an in-house developed 2D elasto-plastic FEM ground analysis program, and UC-Draw 3DCAD, which is equipped with the 3D modeling function in addition to the conventional 2D CAD. He will also explain the online electronic delivery support tools and the creation of flood estimation drawings in the Small River Flood Calculation.
Group Leader of FORUM8 Analysis Support Group
Masakichi Yanagi
This presentation will introduce some analysis case studies, such as the CIM model creation by designing the bridge superstructure and substructure, examining the foundation, conducting the dynamic nonlinear analysis of the entire bridge, and using 3D data created with UC-1 design products. Another example will be the ground FEM analysis considering the impact on the existing foundation during the underground facilities construction. In addition, building energy simulation supporting the LEED certification, evacuation analysis and flood analysis simulation applied to disaster management measures will be introduced. At last, he will talk about the new functions and future developments of related products such as Engineer’s Studio® Ver.11 and FEMLEEG Ver.13.
Examples and achievements that contribute to national resilience!
With the growing desire for society to build lasting structures that can withstand the tests of disasters, NaRDA was established in 2014 to recognize those who are taking action. Focusing on many different disciplines from civil engineering, to hydroengineering, and disaster prevention. These contributions will be awarded and will become a key source of information and technical study for the future.
