FORUM8 Design Festival 2023 was a great success!
A great number of participants attended the event with approximately 500 guest on-site and 1,300 guest online!

The 17th Design Festival was held as a "Live" x "Online" hybrid event. Starting with the EVE programs that provided the metaverse experience in a virtual showroom using the F8VPS, the event lasted for 3 days where the experts gave their excellent lectures to a great number of guests participating from all over Japan and overseas.We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended the Design Festival and to all the judges and lecturers. Thank you everyone, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

    Day3 Fri. Nov. 10th A special lecture by Prof. Akihiko Wakai (Graduate School of Science and Technology, Gunma University) has been scheduled.

    In his presentation "Application of Elasto-Plastic FEM Analysis for National Resilience from the Viewpoint of Geotechnical Disaster Prevention", he will introduce case studies on the reproduction of soil behavior based on elasto-plastic FEM and future prospects for improving technologies of earth disaster prevention and mitigation.

    The 7th Hagura Award Call for works until Oct. 1st!

    [Awards Ceremony on Day3, Nov. 10th] Awards works and initiatives using the latest expression technologies and contributing to the society.

    The 1st round of judging for the 11th CPWC and the 13th VDWC was held to select entry teams.

    From a large number of applications from Japan and overseas, a total of 23 entry teams were selected for the CPWC and 34 teams for the VDWC. The entry teams are supposed to create and submit works, and the final judging and awards ceremony will be held at the Design Festival Day2 on November 9th after the advance nomination judging.

    Autonomous Driving Conference, UC-win/Road Conference, Design Conference, International VR Symposium, Awards Ceremony of Competitions are scheduled for 3 days from Wed. Nov. 8th to Fri. Nov. 10th 2023.

The FORUM8 Design Festival 3Days+Eve presents new software, systems, and research every year. This year, digital twins and the metaverse are rapidly being recognized, and full-scale DX is making concrete progress in business, government, and local authorities, with developments incorporating VR, XR, and AI is accelerating. Moreover, new ways of working and important changes in corporate activities are emerging. ...

　The FORUM8 Design Festival 3Days+Eve presents new software, systems, and research every year. This year, digital twins and the metaverse are rapidly being recognized, and full-scale DX is making concrete progress in business, government, and local authorities, with developments incorporating VR, XR, and AI is accelerating. Moreover, new ways of working and important changes in corporate activities are emerging.

The 17th Design Festival Day1 will start with the 8th Autonomous Driving Conference, and the 22nd 3D-VR Contest will be held. Valuable use cases for digital twins and the digital garden city concept, such as various VR simulations and systems, will be presented. We are strongly pushing forward the development of the F8VPS WebVR platform to build the metaverse, and this time we plan to announce new technologies and features. In cooperation with the State of the Art Technologies Expression Association, the authors of “Learn Cloud & AI in 1 Day” and “Learn Construction ICT in 1 Day” will give new publication presentations, and the publication launch party will also be held.

On Day2, we will have the final screening and Awards Ceremony for the 11th Cloud Programming World Cup "CPWC" and the 13th Student BIM&VR Design Contest on cloud "VDWC". Teams from around the world who won the nomination screening will compete for a victory. Visitors can also see the newest technologies at the 16th International Symposium.

On Day3, the State of the Art Technologies Expression Association will announce and give the 7th Hagura Award, and Prof. Wakai of Gunma University will give a special lecture. After that, a variety of works which contribute to the national resilience and disaster mitigation will be presented at the 10th National Resilience Design Award. Presentations on the latest information for FEM analysis including the newest Engineer’s Studio® Ver.11.

As in previous years, we will hold the Eve event, this year online. We will also hold a technical tour for invited domestic and international students and award winners, as well as a social golf event for SPU and related parties at the Camellia Hills.

We are really looking forward to seeing you and thinking together about how we can use FORUM8's software and systems to improve user's and engineer's productivity and innovate your company.
