The METI, MIC, MLIT, NPA and Digital Agency to deliver 6 lectures.

UC-win/Road is used for a variety of automobile related fields such as road design, vehicle system development, ITS, ADAS and autonomous driving. This conference covers the newest features of the 3DVR software supporting these advanced R&D and examples of system development. At the "8th Autonomous Driving Conference", specialists from the government delivered lectures about trends, current issues, and prospects in the country and abroad.
The newest functions and system development examples of UC-win/Road, which is being widely used in advanced R&D for road design, vehicle development, ITS, ADAS, and autonomous driving, etc., will be introduced. The theme of “Sustainability” has been newly added to this year's conference, the 9th in the series, with presentations from relevant ministries and agencies on the latest trends, issues, and prospects in Japan and abroad.

Recently, the automotive and mobility industries have been experiencing changes in industrial structure and competitive environment along two axes: GX and DX. The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry has been holding 'Mobility DX Examination' meetings to deepen discussions between the public and private sectors and to develop a 'Mobility DX Strategy' that encompasses SDV, autonomous driving, MaaS, and data utilization across companies. This lecture will focus on the content of the Mobility DX Strategy and introduce the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry's initiatives.

Society's expectations for autonomous driving are rising, with hopes for reducing traffic accidents and congestion, addressing driver shortages, supporting vulnerable road users, and creating comfortable travel spaces. Currently, demonstrations and implementations aimed at realizing autonomous driving are progressing globally. To achieve functions such as merging support for autonomous vehicles, in addition to onboard sensors like cameras and radars, V2X (vehicle to everything) communication, which facilitates information exchange with surrounding vehicles and roadside infrastructure, is expected to play a crucial role. This lecture will introduce the efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications from the perspective of communication administration toward realizing an autonomous driving society.

Marc de Jong has been part of the commercial team behind the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) for over 20 seasons. At WRC Promoter GmbH, Marc is responsible for promoting global projects with major brands and automotive parts manufacturers at the pinnacle of motorsports. He is also involved in new rally events held in Japan and the United States, as well as the rally in Saudi Arabia scheduled to start in 2025. From 2004 to 2010, he worked with the UK government-funded think tank 'Energy Efficient Motorsport' to promote the use of sustainable technologies in motorsports. He is also actively taking part in the motorsport as a co-driver in international rallies.

Member of the House of Representatives, elected 12 times in the Gifu 5th district of the House of Representatives. The first Minister of National Resilience, Former Minister of Disaster Management / Abduction Issue. He is the executive Acting Chairperson of Policy Research Council, Chairman of the Parliamentary League for the Promotion of Liberal Democratic Party Motorsports, Chairman of the Parliamentary League for Considering Automotive Culture, and actively serving as the chairman of over 40 parliamentary leagues across a wide range of fields. Every year, he participates in the 5-hour endurance race for kei cars held at Fuji Speedway in August as a team of members of parliament, and this year his team came in 2nd place. The local cities of Ena and Nakatsugawa in Gifu Prefecture are the venues for the FORUM8 Rally Japan, held from November 21 to 24, and have been instrumental in attracting the WRC World Rally Championship to Japan.

Autonomous driving is considered as the technology that contributes to reducing traffic accidents and easing traffic congestion, and the police will support the progress of autonomous driving so that it can be realized at an early stage according to the road environment in Japan.
